Children’s Liturgy of the Word
These sessions are instructions on the Sunday’s scripture readings especially the Gospel which takes place during the Mass at the time of The Liturgy of the Word. The children are called forth by the pastor, given a blessing and leave the church with their Catechists for approximately 20-25 minutes and go to assigned classrooms for grades K-3. After the homily they return to church and their parents for the remainder of the Mass.
The purpose is to help them understand the scripture readings at their own age level. All children in Grades K-2 that are present at the 10:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday may take part in this.
